Roku Error Code 014 | No Wi-Fi Connection [Solved]


How nice it feels to have finally entered the world of streaming devices! We understand your haste and excitement in setting up the Roku TV. Well, you’ve got everything connected. In a few moments, you’ll be able to stream your favorite movies and series on the TV. The device has even connected to your local network. Ready, Get Set, Go! And, boom...the device flashes red light and displays error code 014.

The error means just that the device is having a hard time connecting to the Internet. But, hey...we understand your disappointment. Hence, we have knocked together a few quick & simple fixes to eliminate the error.

Disabling Network Pings might solve this issue. It can be done as follows,

  1. Tap the Home button on the Roku remote for five times.
  2. Now, press Forward > Play > Rewind > Play > Forward.
  3. Select Disable network Pings.

Sometimes a software update might also help,

  1. Another method is to update the software of the device.
  2. This involves opening the Secret Screen.
  3. Touch the Home button five times followed by the Forward button for three times. Now, touch the Rewind button twice.
  4. Allow the device to update its software.

Try changing your DNS settings,

  1. Input your router’s IP address into the address bar of your browser.
  2. On your router’s login screen, sign in to the account.
  3. Access the DNS Settings and see if the router is set to an internal IP address.
  4. Change the DNS addresses to public DNS.
  5. Upon changing the settings, save them.
  6. See if the issue persists. Go ahead to the next step if it does.
  7. Pull out the power cord of the router.
  8. Let the router remain so for about 15 seconds.
  9. Reconnect the power cord and switch on the Roku.
  10. Finally, the Roku will connect to the Internet, and the setup process is initiated.
