HP COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177FW SCREEN FROZEN ON HP LOGO AND ENERGY STAR ICON

There is a list of solutions that are available for the issue mentioned below. Try them out to check if you can resolve the issue.

  • Check if you have connected an ethernet, USB or fax cable to the printer. If yes, then unplug it from the printer to avoid such issues.
  • Verify if you are using a surge protector to connect the printer to the power supply.
  • This might cause the freezing problem with your HP printer.
  • Remove the protector and connect the HP printer to the power outlet directly.
  • The next solution is to clear the print spooler.
  • Go to the Start icon and choose the Run option.
  • In the window that appears, enter net stop spooler and press the Enter button present on your keyboard.
  • The files present in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTER folder will open.
  • Delete all the files that are available within this folder.
  • Now, go to the Start button again and open the Run window.
  • Key in net start spooler in the window and tap the Enter button.
  • Delete the printer driver and reinstall it on your device.
  • To do so, open the Printers and Drivers window on your computer and right click on the driver that you want to delete.
  • Choose the Remove option to uninstall the driver after clicking Yes in the confirmation screen.
  • Install the printer driver again after some time.
  • Once the installation is done, take a test print to check if the issue has been resolved. If the issue is not solved, then reset your printer.
