Roku Activate Code Link | Error Code 009 [Solved]


Activating your Roku streaming player involves linking the device to a Roku account. This account has the device information, installed channels, and your preferences. Enter the activation link appearing on the Roku device during the activation process. Sometimes the activation screen displays an error.

Cause:

This error occurs when your TV is connected to the router but doesn’t have Internet access. Since this is a must-do step for the setup, the launch of channels is an impossibility now. On encountering such connectivity issues, a screen appears notifying you of the error.

Fix:

  • Get to know your wireless network name and select the correct network.
  • Enter the password with the right capitalization since the passwords are case sensitive.
  • Connect other devices to the local network and check if the router is working properly.
  • Launch a website on your laptop or mobile, and if it opens, infer that the router is working fine.
  • If not, restart the router. Unplug its cables from the power supply and then reconnect them.
  • Or press the Reset button on the device.
  • Head to Settings on Roku player. Select System > System Restart > Power > System Restart.
  • Hold on for a few minutes while the device completely restarts.
  • Check the Internet connection of the Roku device as follows:
  • Go to Settings > Network > Check Connection to perform a two-part test.
  • Find the signal strength of your home network in the first half of the test.
  • Check if your Roku TV is connected to the network and the speed of that connection in the second half.
  • The device window provides on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
  • Follow them to optimize signal strength and speed.
  • Go back to the activation process to see if the error has been cleared.
