You can set up scan to Network folder on the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M426FDW printer using two different methods, either by the
HP Embedded Web Server or
Scan to Network Folder option on the printer panel.
Before you begin the scan set up process, place the originals to be scanned on the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with the side to be scanned facing upward.
The leading edge should enter first into the feeder.
Pair your printer and computer to the same Wi-Fi Network either via the wired or wireless connection.
Reach the HP site on your web browser and download the latest version of a full feature driver package for your printer.
Install all the software programs on your network-connected computer. Press the Network icon on printer’s touchscreen panel. Now the printer displays the IP address on the screen.
Go back to the computer and type the IP address of the printer at the address bar in the web browser. The Embedded Web Server of the printer displays on the screen.
Click the System tab and select the Administration option on the left panel.
Enable the Scan to Network Folder option. Click the Scan tab on the menu bar.
Select Network Folder Setup on the left panel of the screen. Enter the Display Name, Network Path, Username, and Password.
Type the PIN to protect the documents on the Network Folder and edit other scan settings as per your preferences. Save all of your settings.
Open the HP Printer Assistant on your computer.
Click Print, Scan, and Fax that is displayed on the top of the screen.
Select the Scan tab and then the Scan a Document or Photo option. Now HP Scan opens on the screen.
Choose the Scan Shortcut, item type, page sides, and file location.
Click Scan to start scanning the first sides of the originals placed in ADF.
Take the one-side scanned originals from the output tray.
Rotate the pages and place the originals back into the ADF with the leading edge first.
Once the scan completes, scanned files will be automatically saved to a predefined folder.
To scan to network folder directly from the printer, press the Scan option. Choose Scan to Network.
Select your desired Network folder and type a password to secure the folder.
Click OK to start scanning and find the scanned output on the specified folder on your computer.
