Learn How to Pair Your Google Home Mini to a Bluetooth Speaker

For those of us who have been around Google Home Mini, it is a very well known fact that the device is not the best in playing music while faring well in finding music. The device sounds unclear and metallic. So, while the tech giant has all its hands on fixing this issue, we have found an easy solution to it. Pick your favorite Bluetooth speaker and pair it with the Home device.

An additional advantage would be that once you make this speaker as the default device, you need not tell the Home device where the speaker is or fiddle with the controls. Here is how to pair the Google Home Mini with your Bluetooth speaker.

  • Launch the Google Home app.
  • Touch the Devices button in the top right corner.
  • Tap the Menu button in the Devices page and choose Settings.
  • Move down the screen and locate the Paired Bluetooth Devices option.
  • The default speaker menu opes.
  • Make sure the speaker is being put in pairing mode.
  • Long press the Bluetooth button on the speaker to enable the pairing mode.
  • Simultaneously, tap the Pair Bluetooth Speaker button on your phone.
  • The Google Home app begins scanning for speakers.
  • Tap on the speaker when pair.
  • Upon pairing, Google Home Mini sets this speaker as the default one.

Your Google Home Mini should stay connected to the Bluetooth speaker and set as the default audio device. All other functionality of the Home device continues to work the same as earlier. All sorts of communications and operations happen with the Home device itself.

Now that your favorite speaker is voice-controlled, you can ask Home to play music in the living room even while you’re busy cooking in the kitchen. You also get to control the volume of the Bluetooth speaker via the Home’s voice control. In cases where the Bluetooth speaker is paired with several Home devices, it proceeds to respond to all the audio requests from every device it is paired to. Truly marvelous assistant, eh?
