Printer Wi-Fi connection


The Wi-Fi router requires a minimum of 8 characters for the password. To retrieve the wireless network password using HP Print and Scan Doctor, follow these steps.

  • Connect your Computer and Wireless Network for the retrieval process to proceed.
  • Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor file from the manufacturer’s site. Save the file name as HPPSdr.exe.
  • Go to File manager and double-click the HPPSdr.exe file to open the downloaded file.
  • Press Yes to continue and wait for the extraction to takes place. Now a new page will open, click Accept to proceed.
  • Go to Network and choose “Show Advanced info.” Advanced info screen will be displayed. Now, click Wireless info. A new screen will open.
  • On the lower end of the screen, you will see the wireless settings menu in which you can find the Network name, Network key, or password of Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi password using HP print scan and Scan Doctor and then follow these steps to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure that the Wireless printer is on. Press the right arrow on the touch screen, go to Setup, and then tap Network on the printer control panel.
  • Go to Wireless, select Wireless Setup Wizard from Network menu and then press OK.
  • Choose the name of your Network from your list and connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.
  • If the issue persists, then check the wireless security mode of your router and printer. In order for the Wi-Fi connection to be successful, the security mode on both the devices should be the same.
  • Check if your router supports 8-64 character password. If it does not, then change either the password or the security mode.
