LIGHT STREAKS ON DARK PHOTOS SCANNED USING THE CANOSCAN 9000F MARKII [SOLVED]
The first solution to this problem is to increase the scan resolution. You can do so using the scanning software you are using. Set a higher resolution to avoid this issue. A few of the apps or software that you use will not scan the image with good clarity if the image is very large. For such software, you have to set the scale to 100%.
The next solution is to recalibrate the scanner using the Preferences dialog box available in the ScanGear software. The calibration time is based on the computer.
- Select the Source as Magazine from the Basic Mode tab available in the ScanGear.
- Enable the Descreen option in Settings menu under the Advanced Mode Tab.
- Adjust the Color Depth of the system to rectify this error.
- Go to Control Panel and select the Appearance and Personalization option.
- Choose the Adjust Screen Resolution option followed by the Preferences option.
- Change the Colors option to High Color.
- Wipe the platen and the cover using a damp cloth to clear any dirt or fingerprints.
- Check if the original document is damaged or curled around the edges. This error might occur if the document is in poor condition.
- Go to the Advanced Mode tab present in the ScanGear software and change the Dust, Scratches, Fading Correction, Grain Correction, and other settings.
- Enable the Set Image Adjustment option and set it to None.
