Don’t limit the capability of your Google Home to just entertainment and daily routine, especially since it is designed to perform much more than these.

Well, there are going to be days where these devices can set themselves up and customize their functions as per your needs. But before that, it is good to know certain control commands, thus making full use of these speaking devices. We understand that the entire work of learning the tricks can be tiresome. Hence, we have laid down some cool tips and tricks.

  • Add Multiple Users
  • Did you know that the Google Assistant can support multiple users and distinguish between several voices? With this feature, the device can play separate playlists for each family member. Update the Google Home app to its latest version and teach the assistant to understand your voice and slang.

  • Shop with the speaker
  • Ran out of dog food? Order it now via Google Home app. Add your delivery address and method of payment in the app. You’re good to go now. If you’re wondering how to add the payment method, here’s how: Tap Profile > More settings > Payments.

  • Control Your Lights
  • Get your smart lights ready. Now you can control them with your voice. Launch the Home app and tap Menu > Home Control > +. Pick your smart light and then pair it. Now, you can switch on/dim/brighten/switch off all your lights staying right on your bed.

  • Listen to News Briefings
  • Long gone are the days where you have to sit in front of your TV to listen to the news. Get customized reports from news sources you prefer. Request the app to play sports news or technology news. On your Google Home app, select Devices > Home > Settings > More > News > Customize.

  • Call an Uber
  • Say, “OK, Google, get me an Uber?” But before that, link your Uber account with the Google Home app and confirm your details. Open the Google Home app and select Menu > More Settings > Services > Uber > Link Account. You can also find out where your Uber is and even cancel the ride.
