Issue: Printing From Android Device Connects But Fails [Solution]


Try these steps to resolve the Android device to Printer connection issue.

  • Power on your HP printer by pressing the Power button. The printer makes a noise and proceeds to get switched on.
  • Ensure that your printer is receiving power. Check whether the printer is connected to a power outlet.
  • Press the Wireless button on your printer and ensure that it is connected to the same network as your Android device.
  • Open the ‘Google Play Store’ app on your Android device. Find the search bar on top of the screen.
  • Type HP Print Service Plugin on the app search bar. Wait until the search results are listed.
  • Tap the appropriate search result to open the Download/Update screen.
  • Tap Download (or update) to download/update the HP Print Service Plugin app on your Android device.
  • After the app is downloaded, slide your finger down from the top of the screen. Look for the HP Print Service Plugin Service notification.
  • Tap the HP Print Service Plugin Service and then select the On/Off switch at the top of the screen.
  • Navigate to the path where your document is located. Open the document you want to print on your android device and then tap the Menu icon on the top right-hand side.
  • Tap the Print button and choose your printer at the top of the print pop-up menu.
  • Set the desired preferences and then tap Print to print the document.
