Solved: Unable to copy from Glass | HP Printer
Ink residues or any dust on the scanner glass may cause problems. Take a clean, soft and lint-free cloth. Remove all the papers from the paper input tray. Turn Off the printer and open the scanner lid. Use the cloth and wipe the scanner glass. Do not apply too much force to clean the scanner glass. After some time, switch On the printer. Try scanning a document from the scanner glass.
Use Embedded Web Server (EWS)Use the Embedded Web Server to change the Webscan settings. The Webscan can be set either in ADF or Scanner glass. Set the Document Source as Glass and make the other changes such as paper size, etc. Load the original document to be scanned on the Scanner glass. Click the Start Scan option. If the error persists, go to the next step.
Use the HP Scan ExtendedThe HP Scan Extended feature includes the Scan settings. Type your printer IP address into the URL and select Go. Go to the Settings tab and click Copy set the default tray as Scanner glass and apply the changes. The HP Scan extended feature can be downloaded from the web. Follow the instructions and run the HP Scan extended feature.
Uninstall and Reinstall the printer driversUninstall the printer drivers from your computer. Choose your printer model and download the full feature software and drivers for your printer. Re-establish the printer connection and install the drivers. Follow the instructions displayed to install the drivers for your printer.
Load the original document on the scanner glass. Make sure that you place the scan side facing the scanner glass. Try performing the scanning operation. If the error persists, service the printer in an authorised service centre.
