Update ! HP Officejet 5740 Windows 10 build 1809


  • Locate the Temp folder that is present on your system.
  • Navigate to the Properties menu and then select the Security tab.
  • Alter the Users group to Full access.
  • Try modifying the ports of your Officejet 5740 printer.
  • Manually add the IP address of your printer to the Windows computer.
  • Open the Control Panel option on your Personal Computer and select Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on the Print Properties icon and then click the Ports option.
  • Choose Add Port (Standard TCP/IP port) and select the Configure Ports option.
  • Add the IP address of your HP Officejet 5740 printer.
  • You can find the IP address of your device in the printer’s wireless configuration report.
  • Select Configure Port and then uncheck the SNMP status option.
  • Click the Start icon, select Settings and then choose Printers & Scanners.
  • Click Related Settings and select Devices and Printers.
  • Scroll down the list of Devices to check if your printer’s name and icon displays in the Unspecified section.
  • Remove your Officejet 5740 printer from the list.
  • Click the Start button and then choose the Settings option.
  • Select Devices -> Printers and Scanners -> Add a Printer or Scanner.
  • Wait until your computer finds all the nearby printers and choose the model of your HP printer.
  • Now click the Add Device option.
  • Check for updates on your Officejet printer’s driver.
  • Press and hold the Start icon and click the Device Manager option.
  • Type the administrator’s password if prompted.
  • Now expand the Printers section.
  • Find your printer’s name and right-click on it.
  • Choose Update Driver and click Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • Reinstall the newest version of the printer software from the manufacturer’s site or use the CD provided in the Officejet 5740 printer’s box.
