HOW TO SETUP FAX |SEND & RECEIVE FAXES


FAXING

  • Restore the factory defaults on the HP printer.
  • Tap or swipe down the menu to open the Dashboard on the operation panel of your printer.
  • Tap the Setup option and then press Printer Maintenance.
  • Touch the Restore option and tap Restore Settings.
  • Choose the correct option which you like to restore to the original factory settings.
  • Tap the Continue and a message opens on the screen that states, The settings are restored.
  • Now press the Yes button to end the process.
  • Try setting up the printer on the wireless network.
  • Open the Dashboard on the control panel of your printer.
  • Touch the Wireless option and then tap Settings.
  • Press the Wireless Settings option and then touch the Wi-Fi Protected Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the procedures that display on the screen to complete the wireless connection.
  • Now try carrying out a fax operation to verify if the problem has been fixed.
  • Try setting up the fax on your HP printer again.
  • Use the cord that came with your HP printer. If the original cord is not present, get a cord with connectors that have two wire leads and not four.
  • Insert the phone cord to the phone wall jack and to the 1-LINE jack present at the rear of your HP printer. If you have an answering machine, plug one end of the phone cord to it and the other end to the 2-EXT available at the printer’s back. Set up the fax preferences and settings.
  • You can initialize the settings on the Fax or Setup menu from the front panel of your printer.
  • To confirm if the fax set up was successful, run a fax test.
  • Press the Fax Test Report and a report gets printed by your HP printer.
  • Review the page and follow the procedures to resolve the error.
