- Download and install the tool from the manufacturer’s website.
- Launch the application and click Start.
- Select the printer’s name and then click Next
- to open the Finding and Fixing Problems screen.
- Click the Fix Scanning option. If the issue persists, proceed with the following steps.
- Make sure there are no documents present on the scanner glass.
- If you are still not able to scan, open the Tools menu on the control panel and
- select the Restore Factory Defaults option.
- Reinstall the printer driver if the above steps didn’t help.
- Using the HP Printer Assistant to change the scan settings
- Search for HP OFFICEJET 3830 printer on your Windows andclick the printer’s name to open the HP Printer Assistant window.
- Click Scan on the window and select the Scan a Document or Photo option to open the HP Scan window.
- Preview the scan by selecting the Show Scan Preview option andthen modify the settings as per your scan job type.
- Set the Size to 8.5 x 14 and then click Scan.
Using the HP Solution Center
- Open the HP Solution Center window on your Windows operating system.
- Click the Scan Document or Scan Picture option to access the settings and shortcuts.
- Change shortcut default settings
- set the size to 8.5 x 14.
- You can also use the Advanced Picture Settings to change the size.
- Select the Scan Entire Area option and then select 8.5x14.
- Else, set the custom scan size to 8.5x15 and try to scan.
