How do I connect my HP printer to my chromebook?

Connect your printer to the wireless network on which your Chromebook is connected to. If the printer has the touch screen menu choose Setup to begin the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Click the name of the local network and and enter the password to complete the connection. If the printer has the button menu tap and hold the wireless button for atleast 3 seconds or till the light starts blinking and hold the WPS button on the router and the connection is now complete. Find the IP address on the wireless summary which is present at the network settings. Key in the IP address in the chrome browser and press Enter. Select Scan on the top menu. You cannot use this function because it has been disabled message displays.

Choose Settings on the top menu select Security -> Administrator Settings. Click OK to redirect HTTPS. If Your Connection is not Private message displays then select Advanced -> Proceed To (Printer IP address). In the Administrator Settings choose the box next to Webscan, select Apply -> OK. Return to the Scan menu and choose Start Scan.

Unable to scan documents.

  • Locate the power button on the printer and press it.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer when the printer is turned ON.
  • Now remove the power cord's connection from the power source and wait for atleast 30 seconds.
  • Re-plug the power cord to the power source and to the rear of the printer, and then switch ON the printer.
  • Check and make sure if there is no paper jam. If there is a paper jam then remove the papers from the main input tray gently.
  • Also check if there are any crushed or crumbled papers inside the main input tray.
  • Also clean the printhead by using the swab or linen cloth.
  • Clean by using hot water and use a cloth to clean the printhead.
  • And cool the printhead by using chill water dipped inside it.
  • Then dry it for few minutes.
