Roku Error code 013" : Solution#1


While attempting to connect to the Internet, the Roku device might encounter the annoying error code 013. The problem is related to the outdated software on the device restriction any form of wired and wireless connection. The first fixing step should be to update the software:

  • Press the Home button on the remote 5 times, Fast Forward 3 times, and then the Rewind button 2 times.
  • A secret screen opens. Check the device’s IP address.
  • Make sure it is not all 0’s.
  • Select the option to update the software. The device restarts.

Another method is to disable Ping:

  • After the initial setup, press Home x 5 > Fast Forward > Play > Rewind > Play > Fast Forward.
  • On the secret screen, disable the network ping.
  • Choose it and go back to the setup process of the Roku player.
  • Disconnect and then reconnect the Ethernet cables. Reset your router once and then try connecting it to the Roku device.

Restart both the devices:

  • Go to Settings > System > System Restart on the Roku device.
  • Detach the power cord of the router and then connect it after some time.
  • Establish a wireless connection between the router and the Roku device.
