To overcome this issue, you can use the HP Print & Scan Doctor software
- Download the software from the manufacturer’s site and run it on your computer.
- Open the HP Print & Scan Doctor tool on your operating system and click the Fix Scanning option.
- The scanning operation begins and the scan result displays on the Print & Scan Doctor window screen. If the printer passes the test, then you can see a white checkmark on the screen.
- A white wrench indicates that the Print & Scan Doctor tool found an issue and has cleared it. If the scan test fails, then the white exclamation points are shown. It also means that the test failed and requires user action.
- You can skip this step if not required. If the screen displays a red X, then go with the instructions on the screen to fix this issue.
- If you click the Test Scan option, then the Print & Scan Doctor application launches the HP scanning software on your operating system.
- The HP Scanning Software is used to perform the test scan.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions displayed on the screen to complete the test operation.
- Click the Skip button if there is no issue in performing the scan operation.
- Click the Quit button to exit from the Print & Scan software tool.
