It looks like your HP Inkjet 4780 printer does not detect the installed ink cartridges. Hope you have installed the genuine ink cartridges. Confirm if the status light is blinking, and perform the possible the solutions provided below.
Make sure the HP printer is turned on and open the ink cartridge access door.
Press the cartridge slightly to get released from the slot.
Slide the cartridge outwards to remove it.
Inspect the cartridge for any tapes that are left unremoved.
Discard the tape and reinstall it to the slot.
Redo the same process for the remaining cartridge.
Close the access door and try to print again.If the problem continues, attempt to clean the cartridge and carriage contacts.
Use a cotton swab that is dampened and squeezed with the distilled water to clean the contacts.
Make sure you always hold the ink cartridge on its sides without touching the contacts.
Let the cartridge and carriage contacts dry for about 10 minutes and reinstall them into the printer.If the ink cartridge problem remains unsolved, try to reset the printer by following the simple steps below.
Unplug the connected power cord from the rear side with the printer turned on.
Disconnect the other edge of the power cord from the wall outlet.
You need to wait for at least 15 seconds and then reconnect the power cord on both sides.
Turn on the HP printer and try to send a print job to check the issue. If the HP printer still does not recognize the cartridge, replace the problematic cartridge or service the printer.
