HP EXTENDS INVESTMENT IN OPENSTACK CLOUD SERVICES AT ITS GALWAY-BASED R&D OPERATION

HP Ireland plans to broaden the universal reach of the HP Helion portfolio of cloud services. The HP Cloud Research and Development (R&D) group in Galway contributed in delivering HP’s open cloud. As an element of the investment in Galway, HP is introducing approximately 100 sophisticated jobs to cloud R&D group. The government will support these jobs through IDA Ireland. The position will be categorised based on scope and competence level. The role will help the HP’s enterprise customers with the cloud planning and services. The people recruited will be directly involved in deploying the open stack clouds.
Enda Kenny, Taoiseach of Ireland, stated ‘ HP has announced that they will create 100 additional jobs in Galway. It is a strength for Ireland and ICT more particularly’. ICT is a domain which concentrates on creating actions plans for the jobs and introduced many ideas to enhance the job opportunities and support further development in the upcoming years. Mark Gantly, Managing director of HP Galway said ‘Our users are seeking open solutions and being in a position to introduce, deploy, and manage IT assignment in hybrid cloud conditions’.
HP has become the critical investor in R&D in Ireland. The Galway investment news also has created a great opportunity to the people of Ireland. The significant advantage of this investment is that it establishes high-tech job opportunities for the people of Ireland. The government of Ireland will support HP in this new project, and they are looking forward to working with HP. Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton said, ‘ The HP investment to create 100 jobs in Galway with the support of my department is a great breakthrough’.
