GOOGLE TO INVEST $1 BILLION FOR NEW HUDSON SQUARE CAMPUS IN NEW YORK
Recently, Apple declared to spend $1 million in building a new campus in Austin for promoting research and engineering. Apple is not only the organization to invest money in this project, but also Google has stepped forward and announced that they would invest $1 billion in building the new campus in New York.
The new campus spreads over 1.7 million square foot will be named as Google Hudson Square as revealed in an official blog post by Ruth Porat, SVP and CFO of Google and Alphabet. Google has already nodded for the lease agreements for the 315 and 345 Hudson Streets. It has also legally obtained a letter to utilize a property at 550 Washington street to build the new campus.
The two Hudson Street buildings are planned to be inaugurated by the year 2020, and the Washinton phase will be opened by 2022. Google has purchased the Manhattan Chelsea Market earlier this year for $2.4 billion.
The Google Hudson Square campus will serve as the fundamental headquarter for the Global Business Organizations in New York. New York has been the center of attraction for all the organizations. Amazon selected New York City and Arlington as the company’s new headquarters and ready to invest $5 billion in creating 25000 jobs in each city.
